You know those days you have to take off from work just to play catch-up? If you had a teammate to take some of that work off your plate, how would you use that time? Write more work? Nurture relationships? Netflix & white wine?

That’s where I come in.

Hi, I’m Mike. I’m geeked out and hyperfocused, and I can help you recover some of that catch-up time.

Stay with me…

You see, I’m the punctuation police. A language geek. A grammando. Or any of several (more pejorative) nicknames.

Yes, I’m that person who notices — and may well point out — that you need an independent clause preceding the colon in your snippy social media comment questioning another commenter’s literacy.

I was that kid who despised math and science but was thoroughly amped by vocabulary homework and diagramming sentences.

Now I’m that adult geek who chooses to read a style guide or copywriting book over reading fiction or watching football.

And… I also have attention deficit disorder.

I was diagnosed in elementary school, and it’s stayed with me through adulthood. Sure, I’ve developed some compensation routines for the drawbacks, but ADD also comes with a hidden benefit: hyperfocus.

When someone with ADD is doing something they enjoy, hyperfocus causes time to stand still and distracting stimuli to barely register. Hyperfocus is like being in the zone, but it can easily last 8, 10, or 12 hours.

And I really enjoy grammar and punctuation.

So what do you call a punctuation-strong, grammando geek with ADD hyperfocus as a superpower?
